Angus Beef
Do you enjoy grilling burgers or steaks? Or the smell of pulling a mouth-watering roast out of the oven? Or smoking a prime rib roast for the holiday season? We do! We provide the ability to select your own cuts of meat, calculating the number of pounds of ground beef or burger patties that can be eaten in a year.

Locally grown and carefully managed and raised Angus beef is superior to the beef found in your local grocery store. We provide the ability to purchase as much beef as desired - whole, half or quarter - for one set price. No need to wait for grocery store meat sales. All you need to do is contact Blackwood Farms for your next purchase of quality Angus beef.
What to expect when you order quality Angus beef from Blackwood Farms:

A whole cow typically averages between 700 - 800 pounds of hanging weight, which is the basis for price calculations. Depending on the selection of meat cuts and the amount of ground beef or burger patties, you will receive approximately 420 - 480 pounds of meat. This would require at least a 16 cubic-foot freezer for that quantity of meat.
A half cow typically averages between 350 - 400 pounds of hanging weight, which is the basis for price calculations. Depending on the selection of meat cuts and the amount of ground beef or burger patties, you will receive approximately 210 - 240 pounds of meat. This would require at least a 8 cubic-foot freezer for that quantity of meat.

A quarter cow typically averages between
175 - 200 pounds of hanging weight, which is the basis for price calculations. Depending on the selection of meat cuts and the amount of ground beef or burger patties, you will receive approximately 105 - 120 pounds of meat. This would require at least a 5 cubic-foot freezer for that quantity of meat.
